Neighbor Helping Neighbor Event: Yard Sale and Silent Auction on October 18th. Opehee Park in Laconia. Please clean out your attics and basements and recycle your goods for the benefit of our neighbors in need. All yard sale profits will be donated to the district’s emergency fuel assistance programs and food banks. We will also be holding a bone marrow drive and a Silent Auction. The auctions proceeds will help raise funds to heat the Laconia office. Donations needed for both. Or rent your own table for $20 to save for you own healing bills! Bake sale as well. So items, goodies and volunteers help welcome. Please contact Greg at gsilverman@nhdp.org or 768-1722. You may drop off your items with either Hedi Bright - 401 Pleasant St in Laconia, or Lisa DiMartino - 23 Williamsburg Ave (off of Watson Rd) in Gilford.
Volunteers: We are phone banking in Laconia on Tuesdays and Thursdays and could use your help. We will also be setting up a Tilton and Concord location. And if you live in Strafford, we have a place to call from as well.

For nearly two years, I have had the privilege of serving as the State Senator for District 4. It has been a time of great progress and I am grateful to the voters for giving me the chance to serve. Whether working on the state budget or negotiating an important policy, theirs is a public trust that I honor through my work.

I am proud to run on my record of accomplishments. I have worked on hundreds of bills; some of the most important being the environmental protections and alternative energy incentives that we passed. I am especially proud of the small business health insurance bill and those bill which have increased in access to health insurance. We also passed a number of bills which will help spur the economy with tax credits and increase job training opportunities. It is important that we continue to work together to help strengthen the economy because our families and communities depend on a healthy business community.
The challenges ahead are many. Soaring oil prices have us all worried about heating our homes. The cost of gas is increasing prices for the goods we depend on. Health care debt is still the number on reason for bankruptcy. Working together, we can support each other in tough times and rebuild an economy that brings good paying jobs to New Hampshire.
This campaign is about values. To me, those values are reflected in:
• ensuring that each of us has the opportunity to succeed and support our families,
• promoting growth that respects our environment,
• investing in our children’s health and education so they can reach their full potential,
• spending public dollars in a fiscally prudent manner, and
• ensuring everyone has an equal chance to participate in our economy and our communities.
And when our neighbors need help, we need to have the supports in place to serve our elders and others who are vulnerable. A caring community and fiscal restraint are not mutually exclusive, are they both New Hampshire values.
My work has always been about strong families, healthy communities and a strong economy. It continues to be my agenda going forward.
It is my hope that I can count on your support going forward to continue the work on behalf of District 4 and the state community-at-large. Please browse the website to see more of what has been accomplished in the past two year. And as always, send me your thoughts and concerns.
Sincerely, Kathy Sgambati
